Why a Villa Holiday is the Best Thing You Can Do for Your Family

Hotels are fine when you're travelling solo or for a night or two. But bring the whole family — kids, grandparents, cousins, the lot — and a hotel corridor starts to feel very small, very fast. A private villa changes the whole shape of the trip. You eat together, swim together, and nobody has to be quiet because the room next door is sleeping.
Orlando is one of the best places in the world to do this. The theme parks are obvious, but what makes a family trip here genuinely great is having a proper base to come back to: a house with a private pool, a games room, a kitchen big enough to cook in, and enough space that everyone can spread out at the end of a long day.
Here's why it works so well, and a few of our homes that show exactly what we mean.
You get your own pool
This is the one that makes the biggest difference. A private pool means the kids can swim whenever they want — before breakfast, after dinner, at 10pm if the mood takes them. No queuing, no shared lanes, no worrying about other guests. Most of our homes have screened enclosures too, which keeps the bugs out and means you can sit outside comfortably in the evenings.
A lot of families find the pool becomes the centre of the holiday. The parks are brilliant, but some of the best days are the ones where you don't go anywhere at all.
Everyone fits, and everyone has space
A villa sleeps the whole group under one roof, which is both cheaper and more fun than booking multiple hotel rooms. But it also means everyone has their own space when they need it. Kids can go to bed while the adults stay up. Teenagers can disappear to the games room. Grandparents can sit on the lanai with a coffee while the chaos happens elsewhere.
Our homes range from 3 bedrooms up to 9, so whether you're a family of four or a multi-generational group of twenty, there's something that fits.
You cook when you want to, and eat out when you don't
Feeding a family at Orlando theme park prices adds up fast. A villa with a full kitchen means you can stock the fridge on arrival and have breakfast at home every morning. Lunch in the park, dinner back at the house. It's a simple rhythm that saves a lot of money and a lot of stress.
When you do want to eat out, the area around Davenport and Kissimmee has plenty of good options — from casual pizza and burger spots to proper sit-down restaurants a short drive away.
Three homes worth knowing about
Disney Dreamer, Champions Gate — 9 bedrooms, sleeps 22
This is the one for big groups. Nine bedrooms, five bathrooms, a private pool, and enough room that you genuinely won't feel on top of each other. Champions Gate is one of the best-located resort communities for Disney — you're about 15 minutes from the Magic Kingdom gates. The home has a games room and a themed interior that the kids tend to love from the moment they walk in.
Luxury Pool Home with Disney View, Kissimmee — 7 bedrooms, sleeps 16
Seven bedrooms, a private pool, and on a clear evening you can see the Disney fireworks from the property. It's consistently one of our top-rated homes, and the location in Kissimmee puts you close to Disney, Universal, and SeaWorld without a long drive to any of them. A solid choice for a large family or two families travelling together.
South Facing Villa with Pool, Spa & Games Room, Clermont — 4 bedrooms, sleeps 10
A great option for a single family. Four bedrooms, a south-facing pool that gets sun all day, a spa, and a games room. Clermont sits a little further west, which means slightly less traffic and a quieter feel — but you're still under 30 minutes from the main parks. The pool deck is the kind of place you end up spending most of the afternoon.
What to look for when you're choosing
- Pool orientation: South-facing pools get sun all day. Worth checking, especially if you're visiting in winter or early spring.
- Resort vs. standalone: Resort communities like Champions Gate, Solterra, and Highgate Park come with shared amenities — lazy rivers, clubhouses, water slides. Standalone homes are more private.
- Bedrooms vs. occupancy: Check both. A 5-bedroom home might sleep 10 comfortably or 14 at a squeeze. Know which you need.
- Games room: If you have teenagers, this matters more than you'd think. It gives them somewhere to be when the pool day is done.
- Distance to parks: Most of our homes are 15 to 30 minutes from Disney. A few minutes either way makes a real difference over a week of early starts.
